The Gayley Avenue strip in Westwood may primarily be known for its greasy burger joints and sandwich shops, however, Bella Pita defies oily expectations with its inexpensive, reasonably sized servings of fresh and healthy Mediterranean food. UCLA Professor Medy Sanadidi opened Bella Pita in 2007 with the goal of serving healthy, budget-friendly Mediterranean food to Westwood residents and UCLA students. Their falafel, hummus, and salad dressings are all made on the premises from fresh, top-quality ingredients. It is home to something called the Wowshi, which is essentially a Mediterranean calzone. If you’re looking for a late night snack and In-N-Out is a zoo or if greasy food isn’t for you, Bella Pita is open from 11am-3am. It's definitely worth checking out - be sure to bring your Bruincard and take advantage of our very own student discount of 10% off!
