A one mile walk east from Dodd Hall through the serene streets of Holmby Hills will bring you to the beautiful Holmby Park. Here, you can spot young families, groups of friends, and individuals taking time for themselves and enjoying the park’s serene ambiance. A luscious escape is necessary when you want to leave behind the pressures of school and the busy streets of Westwood. Holmby Park provides a neat little getaway from the hustle and bustle of UCLA, and the concrete jungle of Wilshire Boulevard.
Instead of lounging on Janss Steps, make a mini field trip with your friends and try to see Holmby Park. There is a vast amount of greenery and shade provided by tall trees, perfect for picnics or some well needed relaxation. The park also has a nice walking trail around the perimeter, where you can see small ponds and shrubs. There are restrooms on the premises of the park, as well. The hours for the park are from dawn till dusk. There is only one rule: do not play soccer on the field.
Holmby Park is definitely a nice escape and a great place to visit if you seek switching up your normal study or recreational areas.
