Although Koreatown is located in the heart of mid-Wilshire, it is still home to pockets of peace and serenity that are dispersed throughout the vicinity. One of these spots is the Koreatown Pavilion Garden, which in Korean is officially called Da Wool Jung. Translating into “harmonious gathering space,” the garden serves as a place for peaceful reflection and stands in sharp contrast to the bustling city life of LA. It was built to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Korean immigration to the United States and pays homage to the strong values that preserve Korean national identity.

Known as one of the most significant cultural landscapes to exist on corporate property, Liberty Park sits in the sprawling midst of Beneficial Plaza. Designed by Peter Walker, the architect behind the 9/11 Memorial, this park combines aesthetics and community space in order to incorporate green space in the midst of monumental corporate buildings. The park includes a sophisticated symmetrical design, luscious lawns, and an off-centered grove where Canary Island pine trees stand tall. As this is a completely unprecedented move, Liberty Park remains the only landscaped community space on corporate property along Wilshire Boulevard.
